Register for American Jewish Life in the 21st Century

Sunday Jan 27, 10:00am to 11:30am

With Rabbi Barry Cytron in the Board Room

“Does our past belong to us, or we to it?”

This question by famed Israeli writer Amos Oz (z"l) will be the basis of our discussion.

At our initial meeting, we’ll analyze a New York Times essay by Gal Beckerman that highlights five new books on American Jews and their search for the best way to blend devotion to heritage with personal leanings. We’ll create a plan for reading and discussing these writings that allows us to think about the future of Jewish life. You will receive a copy of the Beckerman review and questions to consider before the first session.
