Register for Ernest Bloch Sacred Service

Sunday Mar 3, 4:30pm to 6:00pm

80+ voices, 45+ musicians perform a major choral-orchestral work

In 1933 Temple Emanu-El in San Francisco commissioned moderl classical composer Ernest Bloch to write a musical service highlighting the artistry of the liturgy and Bloch’s formidable composition skills. The work has been performed many times since then, and remains the gold standard of classical choral-orchestral work of its kind.

Performed in a Jewish sanctuary for the first time in the Twin Cities, Adath’s choir is proud to partner with MacPhail’s premier vocal group Sonomento and the Twin Cities Jewish Chorale, who will be joined by a 45 piece professional orchestra and baritone soloist Hazzan Daniel Gross to bring this incredible work to life.
